Astrid Lindgren Prize (Germany)

The German Astrid Lindgren Prize was a children's literary prize awarded by the Friedrich Oetinger publishing house in honor of the author Astrid Lindgren on her milestone birthday . Like the Swedish Astrid Lindgren Prize , it was first awarded in 1967.

The prize was awarded from 1969 to 1999 for unpublished manuscripts written in German. A four-person jury decided on the award of the prize. Most recently (2007) the prize money was € 10,000. The works awarded the prize are also published by Oetinger-Verlag.

The prizes were advertised on Astrid Lindgren's big birthdays. (The number in brackets indicates which anniversary it was.)

  • 1969 (60th): Hilde Heisinger : Tim and the invisible.
  • 1973 (65th): Eugen Oker : Babba, says Maxl, you have to tell me a story.
  • 1977 (70.): (not awarded)
  • 1989 (80th): Karla Schneider : Five and a half days at strawberry season.
  • 1999 (90th): Susanne Ellensohn : The long Hans or the secret escape.
  • 2007 (100th): (not awarded)
