Self-image

“I was born in 1953 on a mountain farm in the Zillertal on a brilliantly beautiful late autumn day. My life as a child on the farm and on the alpine pastures in summer was not easy. The experience of this hard life in my childhood and the often rough tone in dealing with one another still weighs heavily on me. At the same time, however, I also have a special bond with the 'old' life through these intense experiences at that time. It shaped me. And I think of the people who endured this hard life in infinite frugality with respect and sadness. ... Since 1990 I have been living with my wife on the mountain farm again. We farm a small piece of land using 'old' methods. We live there with some animals as equal partners of creation in the sense of Franz von Assisi , a model for harmonious coexistence of humans and animals, with admiring respect for the beauty and the secrets of nature. "( Ludwig Dornauer )
