So life is! The Wagenfelds is a German soap opera that was broadcast on Sat.1 in 1995 and 1996 . The series was the first, but unsuccessful, attempt at a private broadcaster's daily soap.

background

So life is! The Wagenfelds was a commissioned production by Sat.1 . The executive production company was Bavaria Film GmbH in cooperation with IdunaFilm GmbH, and the film was shot in the Bavaria Film studios in Grünwald near Munich. The exterior of the Gasthaus Zum Schwarzen Hahn still exists today, but the interior has been completely rebuilt.

After the start in October 1995 and the broadcast of 126 episodes, the series was discontinued in February 1996 due to bad ratings in the middle of the action, over 40 episodes that had already been shot were no longer broadcast. The attempt to repeat it in 1999 was also unsuccessful. In March 2006, Sat.1 repeated the series again in the morning, but without success. After only two weeks and ten episodes broadcast, the series was canceled again.

action

The series revolves around the Wagenfeld family from Hamburg. Katharina Wagenfeld moves with her three children from Hamburg to Rosenburg in Bavaria after her husband cheated on them. In Rosenburg she is supposed to take over her sick aunt's run-down inn, but this task turns out to be more difficult than expected. But Katharina does not give up and tries to build a new existence for herself and her children with the Black Rooster ...
