Carlo Binetti

Carlo Secondo Binetti (born January 25, 1931 in Basel ; † November 14,  2014 there ) was a Swiss manager, politician and football coach .

Binetti grew up in Basel as the son of a family from the Canton of Ticino . In his youth he played the drums as a hobby and trained as a window dresser; In the 1970s he switched to the commercial area and became head of examinations at the Basel trade association and later head of personnel at the Swiss company Globus and the Basel Citizens Hospital . In the meantime he became active on the political level and was elected to the Citizens' Council, later also for the Christian Democratic People's Party (CVP) in the Grand Council , the Basel city parliament. Most recently he was an honorary member of the board of the CVP Basel-Stadt.

In addition, Binetti, who played together with Josef "Seppe" Hügi in his youth , took football coaching courses in Magglingen and trained, among other things, the BSC Old Boys Basel and led the club for several years. He died in November 2014 after a long illness.
