life and work
Around 1810 Schulz was a singing teacher at the ecclesiastical seminar in Züllichau an der Oder. In 1816 he was co-signatory of a letter of homage to Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi initiated by Wilhelm von Türk . Schulz later worked as vice principal of the Fürstenwalde community school.
He composed the hymn Thank the Lord! We thank the Lord ( EG 333, MG 25) for a text by the hymn poet Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Herrosee .
The well-known popular canon O how comfortable is me in the evening was first published in his singing theory and is probably his work.
