Hermann Mendel

Hermann Mendel (born August 6, 1834 in Halle , † October 26, 1876 , probably in Berlin ) was a German music writer.

He founded the Musikalisches Conversations-Lexikon , which appeared in Berlin from 1870 and was further edited by August Reissmann (1825–1903) after his death . His pocket song book with texts of more than 500 German songs achieved countless editions.
