Paul Albert Attanasio (born November 14, 1959 in the Bronx , New York City ) is an American screenwriter and film producer who, in addition to his two Academy Award nominations , was mainly due to the doctor series he created, Dr. House became known.

Life

Paul Albert Attanasio was born in the Bronx to Connie, a real estate agent, and Joseph Attanasio, an advertising consultant . He grew up in Teaneck and Pelham Bay, New Jersey. After graduating from Harvard College in 1981 , he graduated from Harvard Law School in 1984 with a law degree .

From 1984 to 1987 Attanasio worked as a film critic for the Washington Post . He then wrote two episodes for the sitcom Doctor Doctor before creating his first own series, Homicide , in 1993 . For the scripts Quiz Show and Donnie Brasco , which he adapted from a novel , Attanasio received an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Script in 1995 and 1998 .
