action

Dr. Mike Stratford and three other doctors who graduated from Harvard University have a group practice in Providence . Stratford also works as a medical expert for the local television station. Due to his tight schedule, he has little time for a private life with his girlfriend, television producer Elizabeth McQueen. His best friend is his African American colleague Abraham Butterfield, a family man. The other doctors are the self-centered Grant Linowitz and the selfish Deirdre Bennett. As the plot progresses, Mike's brother Richard comes out as gay , which leads to further complications.

The humor of the series arises from the completely different characters and approaches to the sometimes very serious illnesses being treated.
