Sandra Trattnigg (born November 14, 1976 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian opera and concert singer ( soprano ).

Life

The soprano Sandra Trattnigg, who comes from southern Carinthia, has lived in Zurich since 2005. She completed her vocal studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Helena Lazarska (voice) and Edith Mathis (song and oratorio). In 2001 she won the " Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg " (Berlin) singing competition , in 2002 she was a prizewinner of the "Musica Juventutis" competition at the Wiener Konzerthaus and in 2003 she received the sponsorship award from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg .

In 2001 Sandra Trattnigg made her operatic debut at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn with Euridice in Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice". She then went to Vienna as Cleopatra (“Giulio Cesare in Egitto”), Donna Elvira (“Don Giovanni”) at the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera, Pamina (“Die Zauberflöte”), Marie (“Bartered Bride”) and Antonia (“Hoffmanns Stories ”) at the Klosterneuburg Opera and as Micaela (“ Carmen ”) at the Klagenfurt City Theater.

Afterwards she was engaged by Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Zurich Opera House , where the soprano a. a. Portrayed roles such as Pamina, First Lady, Drusilla, Celia, Anna Geppone, First Flower Girl, Duchess of Parma, Solveig, Marzelline, Micaela, Vitellia, Rosalinde, Elisabeth and Gutrune. She could be heard at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia under Zubin Mehta as Marzelline in Fidelio and most recently she shone with the main role in a world premiere of “The City of the Blind” and as Regina in Mathis Der Maler in Zurich. In summer 2012 she sang in the Magic Flute and Il re pastore at the Salzburg Festival and in 2013 she appeared on stage as Freia in Rheingold in Leipzig .

Sandra Trattnigg is also a concert singer. The Salzburg Festival, the Carinthian Summer , Konzerthaus and Musikverein Vienna , Tonhalle Zurich or the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig are a selection of the stops in her concert career. In 2011 she sang the St. Luke Passion by Krzysztof Penderecki with the Dresden Philharmonic in Dresden. With the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin under Ingo Metzmacher she sang the role of Martha in a performance of Schubert's Lazarus. Sandra Trattnigg has so far worked with conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt , Zubin Mehta , Franz Welser-Möst , Fabio Luisi , Bernard Haitink , Nello Santi , Christian Thielemann , Marc Minkowski , Thomas Rösner , Andrés Orozco-Estrada , Ivor Bolton , Christoph von Dohnányi , Philippe Jordan , Ingo Metzmacher , Daniele Gatti , Ulf Schirmer , Plácido Domingo and Krzysztof Penderecki.
