Chad Trujillo

Chadwick A. "Chad" Trujillo (born November 22, 1973 ) is an American astronomer .

After receiving his doctorate from the University of Hawaii (2000), Trujillo worked at the Gemini Observatory on the Kuiper Belt and the outer solar system as well as the formation of the solar system and other planetary systems . In the search for bright trans-Neptunian objects he was involved in Michael E. Brown's team, among other things, in the discovery of the dwarf planets Eris and Makemake as well as the large asteroids Quaoar , Sedna , Orcus and 1999 DE 9 .

The asteroid (12101) Trujillo is named after him.
