Zoe Van der Weel (born November 14, 1990 in Edinburgh ) is a British handball player .

Career

Zoe Van der Weel started playing handball at the Norwegian club Charlottenlund SK at the age of 12. When she was 15 she joined Byåsen IL . In the 2008/09 season, the winger played with Selbu IL in the second highest Norwegian league, in which she was able to achieve a total of 34 goals in 22 games. The following season she played for Byåsen in the top Norwegian league. She scored one goal in seven missions. Then the left-hander moved to league competitor Nordstrand IF, for whom she threw four goals in sixteen missions. After Nordstrand was relegated at the end of the 2010/11 season, she moved to England to prepare for the Olympic Games with the British national team. In the summer of 2012 she joined the Norwegian second division club Njård IF. In addition, she worked as a youth trainer for the Ullern IF association. She has been playing for Aker Topphåndball since 2016 . With Aker, she rose to the top Norwegian league in 2019.

Zoe Van der Weel completed four international matches for the Norwegian youth national team. She later belonged to the squad of the British national handball team . She was part of the British squad that took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London .
