Natalie Mastracci

Natalie Mastracci (born June 5, 1989 in Welland , Ontario ) is a Canadian rower .

The 1.78 meter tall Mastracci is studying at Syracuse University . She started rowing in 2007. In 2008 and 2009 she finished fourth with the Canadian eighth at the U23 World Championships , and in 2010 she won the bronze medal. In 2011 she moved up to the Canadian eighth in the adult class and won the silver medal behind the boat from the USA at the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled. In 2012 she tried to qualify for the Olympic Games in London with Larissa Lagzdins in a double without a helmsman, but it did not succeed. With the Canadian eight she won the World Cup regatta in Munich in 2012, in which the US eight did not compete. The 2012 Olympic Regatta was held on Dorney Lake near Eton, where the US rowers won, the Canadian eighth received silver in the line-up of Janine Hanson , Rachelle Viinberg , Krista Guloien , Lauren Wilkinson , Natalie Mastracci, Ashley Brzozowicz , Darcy Marquardt , Andréanne Morin and Lesley Thompson . A year later, at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju , she finished second behind the United States in the four-man category without a helmsman . The Canadian eighth finished third behind the United States and Romania. Even with the world championships in 2014 Mastracci approached in two boat classes. After an eighth place in the uncontrolled two, she won the silver medal in eighth behind the US boat. At the 2015 World Championships , the US eight won ahead of the New Zealanders, Mastracci won the bronze medal with the Canadian eight. At the 2016 Olympic Games , the Canadian eighth finished fifth.
