Mie Augustesen (born July 19, 1988 in Vejle , Denmark ) is a former Danish handball player .

Career

Augustesen started playing handball at the Danish club Daugård IF in 1994. After the outside player was active for Vejle / Bredballe from 2000 to 2004, she joined Randers HK . With Randers, she won the EHF Cup in 2010 and the Danish Championship in 2012. In the summer of 2012 she signed a contract with the German Bundesliga club Thuringian HC . With the THC she won the championship and the DHB Cup in 2013 . In summer 2013 she returned to Denmark for private reasons. Here she played for København Håndbold in the 2013/14 season . Then Augustesen actually wanted to end her career, but in August 2014 she decided to continue her career at FC Midtjylland Håndbold, which was renamed Herning-Ikast Håndbold in 2018 . With FCM she won the Danish Championship in 2015, the Danish Cup in 2014 and 2015 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2015 . After the 2018/19 season, she ended her career.

Augustesen played 80 international matches for the Danish women's handball team , in which they scored 262 goals. With Denmark she finished fourth at the 2010 European Championships and was elected to the European Championship Allstar Team at the end of the tournament. She also took part in the 2012 European Championship .

With the Danish youth teams Augustesen won the gold medal at the U-18 European Championship in 2005, the U-18 World Championship in 2006 and the U-20 European Championship in 2007.
