Mark Aldred (* 18th April 1987 in Birmingham ) is a British lightweight - rowers .

Mark Aldred only started rowing in 2010. In 2013 he and Sam Scrimgeour won two world cup regattas in the lightweight two-man category . At the 2013 World Championships , the two won the bronze medal. In 2014 Aldred switched to the lightweight four without a helmsman . The four in the line-up Aldred, Peter Chambers , Richard Chambers and Chris Bartley won the silver medal at the European Championships and the bronze medal at the World Championships . With a fourth place at the European Championships and ninth place at the World Championships , the 2015 season was less successful. At the start of the 2016 season, the British lightweight four-man with Chris Bartley, Mark Aldred, Jono Clegg and Peter Chambers won the silver medal at the European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel . Three months later, the four finished seventh at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

Mark Aldred first studied physics and is a patent attorney.
