Ivan Wiktorowytsch Dowhodko ( Ukrainian Іван Вікторович Довгодько ; born January 15, 1989 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian rower .

Athletic career

Dowhodko started rowing in 2001. In 2005 he won the bronze medal in a double foursome at the Junior World Championships ; In 2006 he finished fourth and at the 2007 Junior World Championships he received bronze in double sculls . In 2009 he won the silver medal in a double foursome at the U23 World Championships together with Anton Zajets, Iwan Yurtschenko and Iwan Futryk ; Bronze followed in 2010 with Yurchenko, Futryk and Oleksandr Nadtoka . At the European Championships in 2010 he won bronze with Volodymyr Pawlowskyj , Serhiy Hryn and Serhiy Bilouschenko . The following year, the Ukrainian four-four won the U23 title with Jurij Ivanov , Futryk, Nadtoka and Dowhodko. At the European Championships in 2011 , Futryk and Dowhodko rowed with the double scull to fourth place. At the 2012 Olympic Games , Dovhodko competed in double fours and finished ninth together with Pavlovskyj, Kostjantyn Saizew and Hryn. At the European Championships in 2012 , the Estonian double scull won, three seconds behind the U23 world champions of 2011 Jurij Iwanow, Iwan Futryk, Oleksandr Nadtoka and Iwan Dowhodko received the silver medal.

In 2013 Dmytro Michai rowed for Jurij Ivanov in the double foursome at the European Championships and finished fourth together with Futryk, Nadtoka and Dowhodko. At the 2013 World Championships , the Ukrainian quadruple competed for the first time in the line-up of Dmytro Michai, Artem Morosow , Oleksandr Nadtoka and Iwan Dowhodko and, as the fourth-placed boat, missed the medal ranks by just half a second. In the same line-up, the Ukrainian four-four won the 2014 European Championships in Belgrade with 0.27 seconds ahead of the British boat. The decision at the World Championships in Amsterdam was even tighter , in the world best time of 5: 32.26 minutes the Ukrainians won 0.09 seconds ahead of the British. In 2015, the Russian double scull won the European Championships ahead of the Ukrainians and the British. At the 2015 World Championships , the Ukrainians missed the A final and were able to qualify directly for the 2016 Olympic Games with second place in the B final with a 0.05 second lead over the New Zealanders. At the European Championships in 2016 , the Ukrainian double quad finished sixth. The Ukrainians also took sixth place at the 2016 Olympic Games .

In 2017, Dowhodko rowed the double scull to ninth place at the European Championships and eleventh place at the World Championships . In 2018 Michai returned to the double fours. In the line-up of Dmytro Michai, Serhij Hryn , Oleksandr Nadtoka and Ivan Dowhodko, the Ukrainian boat reached fourth place at the European Championships . A month and a half later, the Ukrainians won bronze at the World Championships in Plovdiv, behind the Italians and the Australians.

The 2012 Olympic rowing champion Natalija Dowhodko is Ivan Dowhodko's sister.
