Daniel Noonan

Daniel Noonan (born October 28, 1979 in Warren (New South Wales) ) is an Australian rower .

He started rowing in 1995, and in 1997 he finished fifth at the Junior World Championships with a quadruple scull . He made his World Cup debut in Lucerne in 2000 with a twelfth place in the four-four. It was not until 2006 that he achieved a podium finish at an international regatta at the World Cup in Munich with third place in a double quad. At the rowing world championships in 2006 , the boat took ninth place. After a year in the single with a 15th place at the World Cup in Amsterdam as the best place, Noonan returned in 2008 in the double fours. The four reached the final at the Beijing Olympics and finished fourth in the line-up of Christopher Morgan , James McRae , Brendan Long and Daniel Noonan.

In 2009 the double quad was completely redeployed; along with Nick Hudson , Jared Bidwell and David Crawshay , Noonan won the silver medal at the 2009 World Rowing Championships behind the Polish four-four. In 2010 the Australian double scull with the line-up Karsten Forsterling , David Crawshay, James McRae and Daniel Noonan received the bronze medal at the World Championships in New Zealand. In 2011 Christopher Morgan came on board for Crawshay, Morgan, McRae, Forsterling and Noonan won gold at the World Championships in Bled . In 2012 the Australian double scull took third place at the Olympic Games in London behind the German and Croatian boats.
