Dmytro Valerijowytsch Michai ( Ukrainian Дмитро Валерійович Міхай ; born February 27, 1990 in Cherson ) is a Ukrainian rower .

Michai started rowing in 2006. In 2010 he took part in the U23 World Championships and finished eighth with the double scull . In 2012 Dmytro Michai and Artem Morosow achieved second place in the double scull in the Olympic qualification regatta in Lucerne. After finishing eleventh in the Olympic regatta , the two finished eighth in the 2012 European Championships . In 2013 Michai competed at the European Championships in double fours and finished fourth together with Iwan Futryk , Oleksandr Nadtoka and Iwan Dowhodko . At the 2013 World Championships , the Ukrainian quadruple competed for the first time in the line-up of Dmytro Michai, Artem Morosow, Oleksandr Nadtoka and Iwan Dowhodko and, as fourth-placed boat, missed the medal ranks by just half a second. In the same line-up, the Ukrainian four-four won the 2014 European Championships in Belgrade with 0.27 seconds ahead of the British boat. The decision at the World Championships in Amsterdam was even tighter , in the world best time of 5: 32.26 minutes the Ukrainians won 0.09 seconds ahead of the British. In 2015, the Russian double scull won the European Championships ahead of the Ukrainians and the British. At the 2015 World Championships , the Ukrainians missed the A final and were able to qualify directly for the 2016 Olympic Games with second place in the B final with a 0.05 second lead over the New Zealanders. At the European Championships in 2016 , the Ukrainian double quad finished sixth. The Ukrainians also took sixth place at the 2016 Olympic Games .

In 2017 Michai rowed in eighth and finished seventh at the European Championships and ninth place at the World Championships . In 2018 he returned to the double fours. Together with Serhiy Hryn , Oleksandr Nadtoka and Iwan Dowhodko he reached fourth place at the European Championships . A month and a half later, the Ukrainian double- scull won bronze at the World Championships in Plovdiv, behind the Italians and the Australians.
