Alistair Bond

Alistair Bond (* 16th August 1989 in Dunedin ) is a New Zealand lightweight - rowers .

The 1.85 m tall Alistair Bond has been rowing since 2003. He took part in the 2012 World Championships in the non-Olympic boat classes and finished tenth in the lightweight two-man without helmsman . In 2014 he made his debut in the Rowing World Cup , where he competed in the lightweight double scull with Adam Ling . At the 2014 World Championships , the two only reached the C final. However, they did not take part in this race because Alistair Bond replaced the injured James Lassche in the lightweight four without a helmsman . In the world championship final, the Danish four-man won ahead of the New Zealanders with James Hunter , Alistair Bond, Peter Taylor and Curtis Rapley and the British. In 2015, Bond won two World Cup regattas with the lightweight foursome, while Hunter, Bond, Lassche and Rapley took fourth place at the World Championships . In 2016 the New Zealand four-man won two World Cup regattas. The New Zealand Association nominated Lassche, Taylor, Bond and Hunter for the 2016 Olympic Games , and the four rowers came in fifth.

Alistair Bond starts for the Otago University Rowing Club . He is the younger brother of Olympic rowing champion Hamish Bond .
