Cristy Nurse

Cristy Nurse (born December 5, 1986 in Georgetown , Ontario ) is a Canadian rower who won five medals in eighth world championships.

Cristy Nurse has been rowing since 2006. Her first international success was the silver medal with the Canadian eighth at the 2010 World Championships, behind the US eighth, who has been unbeaten at World Championships since 2006, and in 2011 the Canadian eighth finished second. In 2012 Nurse rowed eighth in the Rowing World Cup , but missed the Olympic Games due to a back injury.

In 2013 Cristy Nurse competed in two boat classes: At the World Cup in Lucerne, she took third place with eighth and won in four without a helmsman . At the World Championships in Chungju , the four-man with Sarah Black , Christine Roper , Natalie Mastracci and Cristy Nurse won the silver medal behind the US four, the US eight won ahead of Romania and Canada, with all the rowers from the four also sitting in the Canadian eight. In 2014, the Canadian eighth won the World Cup finals in Lucerne in the absence of the US boat. At the World Championships in Amsterdam , the US boat won again over the Canadians. In 2015 Cristy Nurse competed in two boat classes again. In the two without helmsman , Cristy Nurse and Jennifer Martins took sixth place at the World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette , with eighth the Canadians rowed the bronze medal behind the US boat and the New Zealanders. At the 2016 Olympic Games , the Canadian eighth finished fifth.
