Jennifer Martins

Jennifer Martins (born January 31, 1989 in Toronto ) is a Canadian rower who won three medals at world championships in eighth place.

Jennifer Martins has been rowing since 2007. At the U23 World Championships in 2011, she won the gold medal with the Canadian eighth. Two years later, she received her first medal in the adult class when she finished third at the World Championships in Chungju with eighth. In 2014 she competed in the Rowing World Cup in a four-man without a helmsman and in a two-man without a helmsman . At the World Championships in Amsterdam , she started in both boat classes. In the four, she reached fifth place, in the two, she missed the A final and finished tenth together with Kristin Bauder . Martins also started in two boat classes at the 2015 World Championships . Together with Cristy Nurse she was fourth in the two without helmsman, with eight the two received the bronze medal behind the boats from the USA and New Zealand. In 2016 Martins only rowed in twos and together with Nicola Hare took 14th and penultimate place at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2017 Martins returned to eighth. Behind the Romanians, the Canadian eighth won the silver medal at the World Championships in Sarasota . In 2018 in Plovdiv, the Canadians won silver again, this time behind the eighth from the United States.
