Romano Battisti (born August 21, 1986 in Priverno ) is an Italian rower .

Battisti won a bronze medal in eighth place at the U23 World Championships in 2006 . In 2007 and 2008 he was U23 world champion in a four-man team . At the European Championships in 2008 he won the silver medal in the four without a helmsman . The following year Battisti competed in the World Cup in two-man boats, so he won his first World Cup regatta in two-man with helmsman in Lucerne in a race with only two participating boats. At the 2009 World Championships , he finished sixth with the Italian eighth, and at the 2009 European Championships , he rowed eighth to fifth. After a disappointing World Cup season in 2010, he finished sixth at the European Championships with the Italian eighth . The following year he entered the 2011 European Championships in double sculls and came in sixth with Domenico Montrone .

In 2012, Battisti managed to make it to the Olympic Games in London in a double scull together with Alessio Sartori, who was ten years older than him as the winner of the last Olympic qualification in Lucerne . At the Olympic regatta on Dorney Lake, Sartori and Battisti won the silver medal behind the New Zealanders Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan . Six weeks after the Olympic Games, the Croatian brothers Martin and Valent Sinković won the European Championships, ahead of Sartori and Battisti.

Romano Battisti won his first international title in a double scull with Francesco Fossi at the 2013 European Championships . At the 2013 World Championships , the Norwegian double scull won in front of the boat from Lithuania, Battisti and Fossi received the bronze medal. The following year, the Sinkovic brothers won the title at the 2014 World Championships, ahead of Battisti and Fossi. At the 2016 Olympic Games , Battisti and Fossi finished fourth.

At the 2017 European Championships , Battisti rowed in the quadruple sculls and won the bronze medal together with Andrea Panizza , Giacomo Gentili , Emanuele Fiume .
