Kayla Pratt

Kayla Pratt (born May 27, 1991 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand rower . In 2014 she won the world championship in the four-wheeler without a helmsman .

Career

At the 2009 Junior World Championships Kayla Pratt rowed the New Zealand double scull in sixth place. In 2011, she won the silver medal in eighth at the U23 World Championships . The following year, she won the U23 title in two with Kelsey Bevan without a helmsman .

In 2013 Kayla Pratt competed in the Rowing World Cup together with Rebecca Scown in a double. After two second places behind the British in Eton and Lucerne, Scown and Pratt won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Chungju behind the British and Romanians. In 2014 the World Championships took place in Amsterdam. There Kayla Pratt, Kelsey Bevan, Grace Prendergast and Kerri Gowler started in a four without a helmsman, the New Zealand crew won the title in the world best time of 6: 14.360 min.

In 2015 Kayla Pratt started in eighth. After a fifth place at the World Cup regatta in Varese, the New Zealanders took second place in Lucerne behind the Canadian boat. At the 2015 World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette , the US eight won, the New Zealanders received the silver medal ahead of the Canadians. The New Zealand eighth with Kayla Pratt, Emma Dyke , Ruby Tew , Kelsey Bevan, Grace Prendergast, Kerri Gowler, Genevieve Behrent , Rebecca Scown and helmsman Frances Turner qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. In Rio de Janeiro, the New Zealand eighth finished with fourth place at the 2016 Olympic Games .
