Chantal Achterberg (born April 16, 1985 in Vlaardingen ) is a former Dutch rower who was eighth in the 2012 Olympics .

Athletic career

Chantal Achterberg from the Delft rowing club Proteus-Eretes started rowing in 2004. At the U23 World Championships in 2007, she finished fifth with the Dutch four-man without a helmsman . In 2009 she moved up to the Dutch eighth. At the 2009 World Championships, the Olympic champions from the United States won, behind the Romanians, the Dutch took third place. In addition, Chantal Achterberg, Nienke Kingma , Carline Bouw and Femke Dekker , all of whom also started in eighth, won the title in the non-Olympic boat class four without helmsman at the 2009 and 2010 World Championships .
