Kathleen Bertko
Kathleen Bertko (* 8. November 1983 in Oakland , California ) is an American lightweight - rower .
Bertko started rowing in 1999. In 2009 she rowed in the Rowing World Cup for the first time and competed in both the eight and the quadruple sculls without weight restrictions. At the 2009 World Rowing Championships she won silver behind the Ukrainian boat with the double scull in the line-up of Megan Walsh , Stesha Carle , Sarah Trowbridge and Kathleen Bertko. A year later, Stesha Carle and Kathleen Bertko reached fifth place in the double scull at the 2010 World Championships . In 2011, Sarah Trowbridge and Kathleen Bertko finished ninth at the World Championships . In 2012 Bertko competed in the World Cup with the double scull, but was not considered for the Olympic team.
In 2013 she switched to lightweight rowing. At the World Championships , she finished second in the lightweight double scull with Kristin Hedstrom . At the World Championships in 2014 and 2015 , Bertko won the bronze medal in the lightweight single . Kathleen Bertko competed with Devery Karz in the lightweight double scull at the 2016 Olympics and finished tenth.
