Lisa Schmidla (born June 5, 1991 in Krefeld ) is a former German rower .

Schmidla started rowing in 2004. In 2008 she finished third at the Junior World Championships with eighth place . At the Junior World Championships in 2009 she won in one . In 2010 she won together with the Rostockerin Julia Lepke in double sculls at the U23 World Championships . In 2011, she won another U23 title when they in Amsterdam together with Ulrike Törpsch , Marie-Catherine Arnold and Julia Lier in the quadruple sculls erruderte the first place. At the World Cup kick-off in Belgrade in 2012, Schmidla took second place with the German double scull. Lisa Schmidla was a replacement for the German squad for the 2012 Olympic Games . At the 2014 World Championships in Amsterdam , she won gold in double fours together with Carina Bär , Julia Lier and Annekatrin Thiele . In 2015 the German quadruple with Annekatrin Thiele, Carina Bär, Marie-Cathérine Arnold and Lisa Schmidla won the title at the European Championships , at the World Championships they received the silver medal behind the US double quad. At the start of the 2016 Olympic season, Thiele, Bär, Arnold and Schmidla defended the title at the European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel . Before the Summer Olympics, Julia Lier returned to double fours. At the 2016 Olympic Games , Thiele, Bär, Lier and Schmidla won the gold medal ahead of the Dutch women. After three second places in a row, she became German champion at the 2017 small boat championships in Krefeld. This was her last start as a competitive athlete.

On November 1, 2016, Federal President Schmidla and her teammates honored Thiele, Bär and Lier with the silver laurel leaf .

Lisa Schmidla rows for the Crefeld Rowing Club in 1883 . In the double scull, her best placement at the German Championships was second place in 2011. She studied journalism at the TU Dortmund . In 2017 Schmidla began training as a two-wheel mechatronics technician. She followed this with further training to become a master.
