Zhang Ling (rowing woman)

Zhang Ling ( Chinese  张 灵 ; born February 27, 1997 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese rower .

Athletic career

Zhang Ling rowed the Chinese eighth to sixth place at the 2013 Junior World Championships .

In 2016 in Lucerne, Zhang Ling, Jiang Yan , Wang Yuwei and Zhang Xinyue won the qualifying regatta for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in a double scull . There were seven boats at the start of the Olympic regatta, while the Chinese women reached the finals via the repechage and took sixth place.

In 2017, at the World Championships in Sarasota , the Chinese double scull competed with Jiang Yan, Li Jingjing , Zhang Ling and Zhang Xinyue and finished in seventh place. The following year, Zhang Ling, Wang Yuwei, Lyu Yang and Cui Xiaotong reached the A-final at the World Championships in Plovdiv and finished fourth, 0.43 seconds behind the silver medal.

At the World Cup kick-off in 2019, only two double fours competed in Plovdiv. The Chinese Chen Yunxia , Zhang Ling, Lyu Yang and Cui Xiaotong won with one and a half seconds ahead of the Dutch women. At the second World Cup regatta in Poznan, five boats were at the start, the Chinese won ahead of the Poles and the Germans. At the World Championships in Linz-Ottensheim, the Chinese won ahead of the Poles and the Dutch, while the Germans took fourth place.
