Britta Oppelt (born July 5, 1978 in Berlin ) is a former German rower .

In 2002 she reached fifth place in a double scull at the World Rowing Championships in Seville, and the following year she increased this result in Milan to second place. In 2004 she won the silver medal in the double scull at the Olympic Games in Athens . In 2005 she won second place in the quadruple scull at the World Rowing Championships in Gifu . In 2006 she secured second place in the double scull at the World Championships on Dorney Lake near Eton . In 2007, she and Stephanie Schiller , Manuela Lutze and Kathrin Boron took second place in the double foursome at the World Championships in Munich . In 2008 she achieved third place with the same rowers, and thus the bronze medal, in the quadruple sculls at the Olympic Games in Beijing . In 2011 she became world champion in women's quadruple sculls at the World Rowing Championships in Bled (Slovenia).

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , she won the silver medal in a double fours with Carina Bär , Annekatrin Thiele and Julia Richter . It was her third overall medal at the Olympics. In 2013 she won the gold medal at the European Rowing Championships in Seville in the quadruple scull. They won gold at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju .

She was honored for her athletic achievements on November 7, 2012 by being awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .

Your home club was the rowing association Hellas-Titania Berlin . She worked for the federal police.
