Lyu Yang

Lyu Yang (born November 26, 1993 in Luohe ) is a Chinese rower .

Athletic career

Lyu Yang made her World Cup debut in 2013 when she finished sixth with the double foursome in Sydney . At the 2014 World Championships in Amsterdam, the Chinese quadruple with Jiang Yan , Shen Xiaoxing , Lyu Yang and Zhang Xinyue won the silver medal behind the German crew. The following year, the Chinese rowers, with the same line-up, took seventh place at the 2015 World Championships . In 2016 Lyu Yang formed a double scull with Zhu Weiwei , the two finished eleventh at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She had already won a double scull at the Asian Games in 2014 with Duan Jingli .

In 2017 Lyu Yang competed in a double scull with Wang Fei . At the 2017 World Championships , the two finished fifth. In 2018 Lyu Yang switched to the double scull after finishing fourth in a double scull at the World Cup opener. After second place at the World Cup in Linz-Ottensheim and fourth place in Lucerne, the Chinese double foursome rowed with Zhang Ling , Wang Yuwei , Lyu Yang and Cui Xiaotong into the A-final at the World Championships in Plovdiv and finished fourth with 0.43 Seconds behind the silver medal. At the start of the 2019 World Cup, only two double fours competed in Plovdiv. The Chinese Chen Yunxia , Zhang Ling, Lyu Yang and Cui Xiaotong won with one and a half seconds ahead of the Dutch women. At the second World Cup regatta in Poznan, five boats were at the start, the Chinese won ahead of the Poles and the Germans. At the World Championships in Linz-Ottensheim, the Chinese won ahead of the Poles and the Dutch, while the Germans took fourth place.
