Julia Richter (born September 29, 1988 in Schwedt / Oder ) is a German rower . In 2011 and 2013 she was world champion in quadruples .

Career

Julia Richter and Lena Moebus took second place in the double scull at the 2007 U23 World Championships . At the European Championships in 2007 Richter and Moebus competed with Judith Aldinger and Sophie Dunsing in a double scull and won the bronze medal. In 2008 Richter won the U23 World Championships in singles , at the European Championships in 2008 she was ninth in singles. In 2009, the silver medal followed in the quadruple scull at the U23 World Championships.

In 2010 Richter won the German championship title in double sculls together with Tina Manker , her teammate at the rowing club at Wannsee . At the 2010 European Rowing Championships , she competed in double fours with Britta Oppelt , Carina Bär and Tina Manker, the four German rowers won the silver medal behind the Ukrainians. At the World Championships , the four finished third behind the boats from the UK and Ukraine.

In 2011 Richter won together with Britta Oppelt, Carina Bär and Stephanie Schiller at the German Championships in quadruples. After two World Cup victories in four-four, Britta Oppelt, Stephanie Schiller, Julia Richter and Tina Manker won gold at the World Championships in Bled .

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , she won the silver medal in a quadruple scull with Carina Bär, Annekatrin Thiele and Britta Oppelt.

At the European Rowing Championships in 2013 in Seville , she won gold in the quadruple sculls. A year later, at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju , they won gold.
