Andreea Nicoleta Boghian (born November 29, 1991 in Gura Humorului ) is a Romanian rower . She is five-time European champion and has so far won a World Cup silver medal.

Career

Boghian started rowing in 2004. In 2007 she took part in the Junior World Championships, where she won the gold medal in eighth . At the Junior World Championships in 2008 , she won the silver medal in two without a helmsman . At the Junior World Championships in 2009 , she won the gold medal in two without a helmsman. After growing out of the junior age, she was immediately used in the open age group and won a bronze medal at the European Rowing Championships in Brest in 2009 in the quadruple sculls . The jump into the successful Romanian women's eight first made it in 2011, when she won her first European title in this boat class. At the European Championships in 2012 , she repeated the success, but then had to leave eighth place and could not take part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In the new Olympic cycle, Boghian is again part of the tribe of the women's eight. At the European Championships in 2013 she won the gold medal not only in eighth, but also with Cristina Grigoraș in two without a helmsman . At the World Championships , she finished in eighth place and won her first World Championship medal. In 2014 Boghian was eighth European champion for the fifth time and she finished fourth at the World Championships in Amsterdam. In 2015 a bronze medal followed at the European Championships and seventh place at the World Championships . At the beginning of May 2016, the Romanian eighth finished fourth at the European Championships . A fortnight later, the Romanians won the last Olympic qualification in Lucerne. At the 2016 Olympic Games , the Romanian eighth won the bronze medal in the line-up of Roxana Cogianu , Ioana Strungaru , Mihaela Petrilă , Iuliana Popa , Mădălina Bereş , Laura Oprea , Adelina Boguş , Andreea Boghian and taxwoman Daniela Druncea .

Boghian's competition weight is around 78 kg with a height of 1.85 m.
