history

The house, built according to plans by Wilhelm Vittali , was opened on May 27, 1914. The four-storey solid building in the neoclassical style had 30 rooms, an electric elevator and running hot and cold water, which was unusual at the time. The building had Doric colossal pilasters, a rusticated ground floor with round arches, an open portico, a cornice and a mansard floor. The listed elevator, which is still in operation today, was an attraction at the time. The building was not damaged during the First World War . After the First World War, the hotel gained increasing importance and flourished. During the Second World War , the castle hotel was badly damaged by air raids, but it remained open. In 1951 the hotel was rebuilt. The Treff group took over the hotel management from 1987 to 1993. Thereafter, the Schlosshotel Karlsruhe was idle until January 1996. The Schlosshotel has been part of LFPI Hotels Management GmbH, a French hotel group, since 2014.

Awards

The hotel bears the certificate "House of Baden-Württemberg Wines". The Association of German Travel Management certified the castle hotel as a "business hotel".
