Polly Swann

Polly Swann (born June 5, 1988 in Lancaster , Lancashire ) is a British rower .

Swann's international career began with a stint at the U23 World Championships in 2010 when she finished fourth in the four without a helmsman . At the European Championships in 2011 , she finished fourth with the British eighth .

After an injury-related failure in the 2012 Olympic year, Polly Swann formed a pair without a helmsman in 2013 with the Olympic champion Helen Glover ; The two won all three regattas in the Rowing World Cup and won gold at the 2013 World Championships . In 2014, Glover and Swann won the European Championships , then Swann moved to the British eighth. The eighth finished sixth at the World Championships in Amsterdam . In 2016 Polly Swann returned to the British eighth and won the title at the European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel . The US eight continued his winning streak at the 2016 Olympic Games , followed by the British European champions who received the silver medal ahead of Romania.

Polly Swann, who is 1.86 m tall, lives in Edinburgh and studies medicine, but is a member of the British national team in the Leander Club .
