Sylvia Dördelmann
Sylvia Dördelmann (born April 7, 1970 in Waltrop ) is a former German rower who was third in the 1992 Olympics with an eighth .
The rower from the Waltrop rowing club finished second in the German championship in 1989 with the four without a helmsman , and in 1990 she won the title in this boat class. At the World Championships in Tasmania, the boat with Gabriele Mehl , Meike Holländer , Cerstin Petersmann and Sylvia Dördelmann took second place behind the Romanian foursome. After she had finished fifth at the World Championships with the German eighth in 1991, she was also part of the eighth crew at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, made up of Annegret Strauch , Sylvia Dördelmann, Cerstin Petersmann, Kathrin Haacker , Dana Pyritz , Christiane Harzendorf , Ute Wagner , Judith Zeidler and taxwoman Daniela Neunast won the bronze medal. In 1992 she also won her only German championship title in eighth.
For winning the bronze medals in 1992, she and her crew received the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993 .
