Michał Klepfisz (Yid. מיכאל קלעפפיש ; * April 17, 1913 in Warsaw ; † April 20, 1943 in Warsaw) was a Polish resistance fighter of the General Jewish Workers' Union ("Bund") in the Warsaw Ghetto . He died during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in April 1943.

Like his parents, Klepfisz became active at an early age in the “ Sozialistische Kinder Farband ” (SKIF) and in the “ Tsukunft ”, the two federal youth organizations. During his engineering studies he remained active in the federal academic organization, "Wrestling". At the time he saved the life of a little girl by throwing herself into a raging river. He also played theater and was a well-known athlete for the organization " Morgenstern ". Klepfish fled to the Soviet Union at the beginning of World War II and worked there in a mine. After a while he returned to Warsaw like his comrades.

He continued to participate in the work of the party, distributing newspapers, was a member of the militia and kept in contact with Polish socialists. But it was to become particularly important at the end of the ghetto. For the Jewish Fighting Organization (ZOB) he was able to get 2000 liters of gasoline for Molotov cocktails from Polish socialists. Klepfish was also the armorer of the resistance group, explaining how to make weapons and building a bomb himself for the brush making district. He fell on the second day of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising on April 20, 1943, because he jumped on a machine gun that was constantly threatening his comrades. Michał Klepfisz was able to turn it off. Posthumously in 1944 he received the highest Polish order, the Virtuti Militari .

His wife's name was Miriam and she was also in the resistance. She served in the teachers' union and on the central committee of all unions. Miriam Klepfisz and the daughter Irena survived the war and went to the USA.
