Andrija Kačić Miošić
Andrija Kačić Miošić (born April 17, 1704 in Brist , today part of the Gradac municipality ; † December 14, 1760 in Zaostrog ) was a Croatian poet and Franciscan .
Kačić Miošić began his training in nearby Zaostrog, where he also entered the order.
His best-known work is “Pleasant Conversation of the Slavic People” (original: “Razgovor ugodni naroda slovinskoga”) from 1756, which was the most popular Croatian book for over a century. In it, influenced by the Enlightenment , he saw the Slavic peoples as one and told their story in verse for ordinary people.
