NGC 4267 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type I / SB0 in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 43 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VVC 386 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 775 , IC 3137 , IC 3157 , IC 3182 .

The object was discovered by William Herschel on April 17, 1784 .
