Lars Mikael Åkerfeldt (born April 17, 1974 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish musician. He is the singer and guitarist of the progressive / death metal band Opeth and was the singer of the death metal band Bloodbath .

Life

Lars Mikael Åkerfeldt grew up in Sörskogen . He married his girlfriend Anna on August 15, 2003, and their daughter Melinda was born on September 13, 2004. His second daughter, Mirjam Ebba Maria, was born on October 28, 2007.

From 1987 Åkerfeldt worked as a singer and guitarist in the death metal band Eruption, which he co-founded. After the group disbanded in 1990, he founded the formation Opeth together with David Isberg.

Mikael Åkerfeldt has worked on all of Opeth's previous albums. He was also the singer of the band Bloodbath until his departure in 2012 and also founded the Storm Corrosion project in 2012 with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) .
