Fredrik Åkesson (2009)

Fredrik Åkesson is a Swedish metal guitarist. He plays with Opeth , where he also wrote some pieces. He also played for Krux , Talisman and for John Norum .

biography

19-year-old Fredrik Åkesson was selected by band founder Marcel Jacob for the position of guitarist at Talisman in 1992 after Jason Bieler left the band for Saigon Kick . After five albums he left Talisman and turned to harder music. In 1998 he starred on releases from Southpaw and Clockwise.

He returned to Talisman in the 2000s and recorded more albums with them. He also helped out at Tiamat and can be seen on their DVD The Church of Tiamat . He then played with John Norum and took his album Optimus in 2005 , on which he also co-wrote two pieces. From 2005 to 2007 Åkesson played with Arch Enemy , where he represented Christopher Amott . Åkesson played with Krux at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2007 .

In 2007 Åkesson replaced Peter Lindgren at Opeth. He had an endorsement contract with ESP Guitars . PRS released a signature guitar from Akesson.
