Doomsday Machine is the sixth studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy and the third on which Angela Gossow took over the vocals. It was released on July 26, 2005 in the US and August 22 in Europe.
Music genre
The album continues the musical path of Anthems of Rebellion . The intro is instrumental and is intended to introduce the album musically. "Nemesis" is similar to the song We Will Rise from the previous album. A catchy chorus , which calls for the unity of the metal scene in terms of content , alternates with verses. Apart from that, the almost four-minute-long Hybrids of Steel , which does without vocals, is also striking . At the end of Skeleton Dance , the death poem of Ōta Dōkan is quoted.
After this album, Christopher Amott took a break to continue his studies. He returned to the band on the follow-up album Rise of the Tyrant in 2007.
Versions
There is both an LP version of the album and a limited edition with a bonus DVD. The DVD contains several live clips and the music video for the song Nemesis contained on the album .
successes
The album reached number 81 on the album charts in the United States , in Sweden it climbed to number 23 on the album charts and number 2 on the hard rock / metal charts.
