Wages of Sin is the fourth album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy . It was published by Century Media in 2001 . It is the band's first album with new singer Angela Gossow .

Emergence

The album was recorded in the Swedish studio Fredman in late 2000 . Fredrik Nordström and Michael Amott acted as producers . The album was mixed by Andy Sneap in the British Backstage Studio .

publication

The album was first released on April 2, 2001 in Japan. The first copies of the album included a bonus CD with previously unreleased recordings by the band. The former singer Johan Liiva can be heard on this album .

The album was released in North America and Europe on March 18, 2002.

Borjvoi Krgin of Blabbermouth.net production quality praised the album and called it a convincing performance of Arch Enemy. The guitar work of the Amott brothers is also outstanding. Allmusic's Adam Bregman wrote that Gossow fits in well with the band and is a welcome addition.

Wages of Sin won an award from the Japanese Burrn! Magazine in the Best Album category .
