The Route des Grands Crus (in German about Route of Fine Wines ) is a wine route in the French region of Burgundy in the Côte-d'Or department . The route extends from Chenôve in the north (south of Dijon ) to Puligny-Montrachet as the end point in the south. The historically significant town of Beaune is located roughly in the middle of the approximately 60 km long route .

description

The route's wine-growing region is divided into the Côte de Nuits north of Beaune and the Côte de Beaune south of the city. While red wines predominate in the northern area ( Pinot Noir ), both red and white wines are grown and sold in the south (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay ). Wine can be tasted ( degustation ) and purchased at practically every place along the route , with the option of visiting wine cellars or wine museums in addition to the tasting.
