reception
Sean Palmerston of Exclaim! called Anthems of Rebellion the band's best album to date. The sound is hard and melodic at the same time. Metal Rules' Anders Sandvall also praised the album and called it a masterpiece. Among other things, the many changes in tempo, Gossow's varied singing and creative arrangements are convincing. Allmusic's Todd Kristel said the album was solid. However, the vocals sound too similar for many songs. The lyrics are also not very convincing.
