Teri Austin

Teresa Austin (born April 17, 1957 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress and animal rights activist .

Life

Austin is the daughter of a factory manager and a housewife. As a girl she was already on stage in school performances and made acting her hobby. At first undecided whether to devote herself fully to acting professionally, she worked in smaller theater productions for an amateur theater group during her studies, lent her voice to various radio plays (for example Sex And Violance Family Hour ) and found success in her work as a presenter on a Canadian TV talk show . It joined film deals like death poker and Vindicator (1985) that her path in the television series Knots Landing prepared. Here she played the role of the psychopathic "Jill Bennett", became internationally known and received the audience award Soap Opera Digest Award in 1990.

In his private life, Austin was in a relationship with her series colleague Ted Shackelford and has today signed the presidency of the animal welfare organization The Amanda Foundation .
