Oskar Baron von Collas (born April 17, 1832 in Meseritz , † December 3, 1889 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Oskar was the son of the Prussian appellate judge Henning von Collas in Glogau and his wife Antonie, née Aschenborn.

Because of his merits, he - like his brothers Alexander and Alfred - was awarded the title " Baron " for himself by the cabinet order of June 30, 1852 .

Military career

Collas joined the 6th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army on January 1, 1850 , and was promoted to Second Lieutenant by January 1852 . In the further course of his military career he took part in the Main Army in the German War in 1866 and in the war against France in 1870/71 . As a lieutenant colonel , Collas was initially commissioned in August 1882 to deputize for the commander of the 2nd Grand Ducal Hessian Infantry Regiment (Grand Duke) No. 116 . Then they sent him on 13 September 1882 to 12 January 1883 the leadership of the regiment and then appointed him under promotion to colonel as commander of the Association . This was followed by a major general from February 14 to September 18, 1888 as a commander of the 43rd Infantry Brigade in Kassel . Then Collas was given command of the 4th Guard Infantry Brigade . Due to illness, he was on 1 April 1889, the statutory pension for disposition made.

family

Collas married on March 26, 1874 on Gut Hohengöhren near Schönhausen (Elbe) Anna Himburg (born March 26, 1853 on Hohengöhren; † May 19, 1932 in Halle (Saale) ), daughter of the landowner Louis Himburg, master of Gut Hohengöhren, and Louise Schulze from Arneburg on the Elbe.
