Hohengöhren is a district of the municipality of Schönhausen (Elbe) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
Hohengöhren is located on the eastern edge of the approximately three kilometer wide Elbe valley , in an extensive flat land between the Elbe and the Land of Schollene , a wooded terminal moraine arch . The closest cities are Tangermünde , Jerichow and Stendal .
history
On September 30, 1928, the Hohengöhren manor district was merged with the Hohengöhren rural community. Until December 31, 2009 Hohengöhren was an independent municipality with the associated district Hohengöhrener Damm.
By means of an area change agreement, the municipality council of Hohengöhren decided on March 2, 2009 that the municipality of Hohengöhren should be incorporated into the municipality of Schönhausen (Elbe). This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

Historical coat of arms
The community of Hohengöhren already had a coat of arms-like seal image in its community seal. This was used in the period after the Second World War until around the introduction of the districts and counties in the GDR (1945–1952). Another source is the County Home Museum in Genthin.
Economy and Infrastructure
The carpentry company Wagener, founded in 1991, and the manufacturer of ecological clay products, clay building materials, Schleusner have settled in the Hohengöhren business park.

Hohengöhren is on the federal highway 107 from Havelberg to Genthin . In Schönhausen (Elbe) there is a rail connection to Stendal, Rathenow and Berlin . The Hohengöhren stop was on the Schönhausen – Sandau railway line, which was closed in 1997 . Regular buses and on-call buses run by Regionalverkehr Westsachsen (RVW) under the brand name stendalbus .
