Johann Gottfried am Ende (born August 22, 1752 in Voigtsdorf ; † April 17, 1821 in Neustadt an der Orla ) was a Protestant theologian .

Live and act

The son of the pastor and senior in Voigsdorf, Christoph Gottfried Am Ende, attended the Princely School St. Afra in Meißen in 1767 and enrolled at the University of Wittenberg on June 2, 1773 . Here he completed a degree in philosophical and theological sciences. On October 17, 1776 he had acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy and in 1777 became his father's substitute in his place of birth. In 1789 he became pastor and superintendent in Liebenwerda , in 1799 superintendent in Neustadt an der Orla and in 1817 received his doctorate in theology. He died childless in Neustadt in 1821.
