Paul Bleiß

Paul Bleiß (born November 6, 1904 in Berlin , † April 17, 1996 in Minden ) was a German economist and politician.

Life

After completing secondary school, Bleiß, who was of Protestant faith, completed a bank apprenticeship in Berlin, where he then studied business administration . From 1931 to 1938 he worked as a business graduate at various banks. In 1937 he received his doctorate from the Berlin Business School . From 1938 to 1943 he worked as a tax auditor at the Wehrmacht High Command . Then he was commercial director of the Rothenburg GmbH metal goods factory in Rothenburg (Saale) . In 1944 he became operational director of the Fichtel & Sachs plants in Reichenberg in Vogtland . In 1945 he became a public accountant in Saxony, but in 1946 he went to the administration for the economy of the British zone (from 1947: the bizone ) in Minden. He was a member of the Inter-Allied Steel Commission. From 1963 to 1970 he was Labor Director at Salzgitter AG .

politics

Bleiß, who had belonged to the SPD since 1945 , sat on the Economic Council of the United Economic Area in 1948/49 . From the federal election 1949 to 1965 was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1957 to 1965 he was chairman of the Bundestag committee for transport, post and telecommunications. Between 1949 and 1961 he was always directly elected to parliament in the Minden-Lübbecke I constituency.
