Martin Nettesheim

Martin Nettesheim (born April 17, 1964 in Stuttgart ) is a German lawyer and expert in European law , international law and German constitutional law .

Life

From 1983 to 1987 Nettesheim studied law and economics at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and the Free University of Berlin . After a one-year research stay at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor , he received his doctorate in 1993 . From 1994 to 1999 Nettesheim worked as a research assistant at the Institute for International and European Law at the Free University of Berlin and as a lecturer in European law at the University of Potsdam . In 1999 he was appointed to the chair for constitutional and administrative law, European law and international law at the University of Tübingen as successor to Thomas Oppermann . At the same time, he took over the management of the Tuebingen University Center for International Economic Law (TURCIEL). Nettesheim taught European law and international business law as a visiting professor at universities in Berkeley , Miami , Nanjing and Kyoto . From 2003 to 2005 he was Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Tübingen.

Nettesheim has been married to the German historian Susanna Elm since 2005 .
