Jason Phillip Randall White (born April 17, 1978 in Edinburgh ) is a former Scottish rugby union player who was active for ASM Clermont Auvergne and the Scottish national team . He played in the second row , as a winger or number eight . He was one of the most feared tacklers in international rugby.

White was the captain of the school selection as well as in the U 19 and U 21 and made his debut for the senior national team against England in 2000 . He scored his first attempt in 2002 against the United States . In the 2003/04 season he put three more attempts in four consecutive games. He moved this season from the Glasgow Warriors to the Guinness Premiership to the Sale Sharks . Due to injuries, he joined the British and Irish Lions squad as a reserve player and came against Auckland for a use.

In November 2005, White was first named captain of the Scottish national team. 10 more games as captain followed until he injured his knee against Romania a year later . He was out for nine months in a row and returned to the squad in the run-up to the World Cup . He was the captain of Scotland during the World Cup and two Six Nations games in 2008 before being replaced by Mike Blair .

In 2009 White moved to ASM Clermont Auvergne in France .
