Gisela Reissmann (* 1920 ; † April 17, 2009 in Jena ) was a German voice actress and actress .

Life

At the end of the 1940s she began her professional career, initially as a house model for fashion designers such as Heinz Oestergaard . As an actress, she was seen in, among other things, the casino affair (1957), as an evil stepmother in Snow White (1959) and in another fairy tale film The Swapped Prince (1962).

However, Reißmann became known mainly as a voice actress in the 1960s. Her voice has been used extensively in Disney films for evil characters. These include, for example, the evil queen and the witch from Snow White and the seven dwarfs (1937) in the second German dubbing version and Malefiz from Sleeping Beauty (1959). It was through these roles that she achieved her greatest fame. Within 20 years, from 1955, Gisela Reissmann was involved in over 80 synchronizations. After she retired from the business in 1975, she became very quiet.

On the evening of April 17, 2009, Gisela Reissmann died of heart failure at the age of 89 in her Jena villa .
